All-on-4® Treatment Can Restore Form and Function in Minimal Time

If you are missing several teeth, and want to restore your smile with implant-supported prosthetics, you should consider the innovative All-on-4® implants technique. Unlike dentures supported by traditional dental implants, which require a large number of posts to support the restoration, the All-on-4® system uses four specially designed implants to support an entire arch. Dr. Joseph D. Murray and Dr. William Alexander can both place and restore dental implants using the All-on-4® technique at their East Point, GA, office.

Candidates for All-on-4® Treatment

If you are looking to replace an entire dental arch of missing teeth, the All-on-4® treatment may be suitable for you. This restorative procedure is also very beneficial for patients who lack sufficient jawbone density but do not want to undergo an extra surgery to become eligible for dental implants. As with conventional dental implant procedures, candidates for All-on-4® treatment should be in good overall health. Conditions such as gum disease must be treated before receiving dental implants. You also should not smoke during the treatment period, as it can decrease the chances of successful results.

Placement Process

If you are a candidate for the procedure, your dentist at Pampered Smiles will begin treatment by administering anesthetic to ensure your comfort. The doctor will carefully place a total of four implants in your jaw and restore them using natural-looking, customized dentures. Two posts are placed vertically in the front of the jaw, while the back two posts are placed at an angle. This specialized placement will make the most of your current bone tissue, and limit the impact and stress placed on your jawbone.

We are often able to provide patients with same-day restorations, placing a fixed denture on the same day as their implant placement. If you do not qualify for immediate loading implants, you can continue to wear a removable prosthesis until your jaw has fully healed. This process typically takes about three to six months.

Benefits of the All-on-4® System

For the right candidates, All-on-4® treatment offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional implants, while still providing life-changing benefits over removable dentures. If you receive implant-supported dentures with traditional implants, you may require six or more implants and preparatory procedures to support your restoration. The All-on-4® system does not need as much jawbone density for implant placement because the four, specially arranged posts evenly distribute the force of your bite. Your overall treatment cost can also be lower because you will receive fewer implants.

Your implant-supported restorations are easy to take care of. Daily brushing and flossing, in addition to regular dentist checkups can ensure that they last a lifetime.

Due to the minimally invasive nature of the All-on-4® technique, the recovery and healing time is typically much shorter than the conventional dental implant procedure. In some cases, patients can leave our office with a new smile in as few as one or two office visits. Your implant-supported restorations are easy to take care of, as well. Daily brushing and flossing, in addition to regular dentist checkups can ensure that they last a lifetime.
